A team of professionals work with young women to develop a strength-based treatment plan. Together, step by step, we achieve each goal.
Residential

Rooted in one hundred years of caring tradition, and growing to meet the challenges of today's youth, Services de santé de Genève, Inc. specializes in helping women through difficult times. In a supportive, nurturing environment, we are there for those who feel confused, alone, depressed or helpless. We work with young women 12-18 years of age who are pregnant and or parenting as well as those who are not.

Young women often find themselves in difficult situations. These situations may be the result of having to cope with a wide variety of problems:

an abusive home
victimization
an unplanned pregnancy without support
difficulties with school
legal issues
multiple placements
behavioral and emotional challenges

Individual, family and group counseling services are offered by licensed professionals whose specialties include:

trauma and grief
drug and alcohol use and abuse
coping skills
anger management and control
effective communication skills
alternative therapies (art, music)
women’s health and nutrition
infant bonding and attachment

The Residential Program offers:
gender responsive therapeutic program
cottage-type living environment with 24-hour supervision
on-site alternative school and GED program
in-house medical clinic and nursing staff
on-site developmental day care for infants and toddlers
recreational and therapeutic groups daily
life skills development daily
comprehensive parenting program

Gender Responsive Treatment
This treatment approach, which recognizes and responds to the unique needs, challenges and strengths of women and girls, is rapidly becoming a best-practice model for institutions and programs accross the country. Not just “girls only” programs that were designed for boys - these programs are multi-dimensional and deal with specific women’s issues, such as addiction and chemical dependence, domestic violence, sexual abuse, pregnancy and parenting and relationships and connectivity.

Using the butterfly metaphor...

The program is designed to assist residents as they progress through four unique and challenging stages, tracking the therapeutic change process.

beginnings • awakening • reflections • transformation

Crittenton offers an innovative approach to parenting education and intervention utilizing the quantitative assessments and curriculum materials developed by NCAST-AVENUW, with a focus on mother-infant interaction, healthy bonding and attachment, and teaching mom the simple yet sophisticated language of her infant to improve their communication and responsiveness to one another for a lifetime.
