Crittenton Services to Host Annual Soup & Salad Luncheon

Prepare your palate for some of the area’s tastiest soups and salads! Crittenton Services’ will kick off fall with its Crittenton Cares Volunteer Program’s Annual Soup and Salad Luncheon on Wednesday, October 11, at the McLure Hotel on Market Street in Wheeling, with free parking in the adjacent garage.  Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and lunch begins at noon.

The all you care-to-eat buffet features dozens of gourmet soups, salads and desserts prepared by the Ohio Valley’s top chefs and restaurants. The luncheon will be highlighted by a soup cook-off featuring chefs from several of the area’s best restaurants, including Coleman’s Fish Market, Crittenton’s Kitchen, Generations Pub, Oglebay Resort, Parkhurst Dining at Wheeling Jesuit University, River City Restaurant, Tito’s Sloppy Doggs, Vagabond Kitchen, WVNCC’s Culinary Arts Department and Ye Olde Alpha.  Guests may sample each or any of the soups and vote for their favorites.

“Proceeds from the luncheon fund activities for girls and young moms in our residential program, such as monthly birthday parties, recreation, holiday activities, cultural events, and more. The generosity of our supporters give kids in residential care the opportunities that every kid needs to feel included and valued,” says Cathy Byers, Director of Marketing.

Major sponsors for the event are Harvey Goodman Realty, Main Street Bank, MedExpress, Phillips, Gardill, Kaiser and Altmeyer, Riesbeck’s Food Markets, Wheeling Hospital and the Ziegenfelder Company.  Food sponsors include All Good Things Catering, DeFelice Bros., Greco’s, Gus’s Goodies, Jebbia’s Market, La Gran Hacienda, Logan’s Roadhouse, Perkins, Sandscrest, Texas Roadhouse, The Soup Shack, Undo’s and Wheeling Island Racetrack & Casino.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at www.florencecrittenton.net or at the door, and carry-out orders are welcome. Proceeds benefit the Crittenton Cares Volunteer Program, providing items and activities for the young ladies in the residential treatment program. Door prizes and themed basket raffles are also offered.
